Athletics Day

On Friday last week we had  Athletics. We dressed in our team colour and went at the court and sat in our age lines. Mr Burt did a prayer to start of our day.

Then we went to our first Activity which was Softball Throws. Softball throw was a bit tricky but at least I had fun. The people that came 1st 2nd and 3rd was Mele than it goes Porsha and Jorja.

Our next activity is Hop, skip and jump.  It was tricky because we have to run, hop , skip and jump. The fordist get to go in the 1st 2nd and 3rd place. When it came to my turn I was it was kinda tricky. 1st person that came first was Mele , Gianna and Taamai.

Our next exciting activity was High Jump. Last last year I came first but this year was kinda hard. The first and second I made it in, on the 3rd one I didn’t made it in so I had one more chance but I didn’t make it everybody that didn’t made was cheering. The bell went for morning tea we went and sat down with our group then go get our morning tea.

Our Pastors Birthday

On Saturday it was our church pastors birthday he was turning 65. When I walked in the door there was a huge rectangle cake and a lot of food. All the other pastors came as well.

While we were changing into our uniform to dance in they were dancing freestyle. Then when they finished it was our turn to perform. We perform 4 dances , then we sat down and had lunch after we had performed.

After we had lunch we played touch outside with my others friends. It was cool. The pastors were talking inside and then some started leaving because they had stuffs to do.

Production

On Monday we perform in front of the Day care,Kindergarten and others school. We are the 70’s and 90’s dance crew. When we came on the stage the kids were clapping and cheering. Our first dance was the 70’s YMCA and Staying Alive by Bee gees. It was awesome, some of the kids were dancing to YMCA with us.

When we finished the next crew came on. We changed into our costumes for the 90’s dance. We waited for 2 minute then went back on stage. After the choir it was our turn again. It was cool. I like the Janet Jackson one because me and my best friend Taamai is Janet and we get to sing and dance different from the others. Can’t wait on to perform again on Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday. Friday we are performing in front of our school.

My Reflection

Why didn’t we finished our DLO movie?

Me,Flora and Javana made a movie about Sally Ride. We worked on it 3 days. The first day was planning of what to do. The second day we started animating then the next day we were half way now we just need a little more time to finished it off.

Why?

Mrs Lagitupu called the 70’s and 90’s group for the production to have a practise (I was part of it.) On Thursday we had tech. On Friday we only had a little time.

Term 3 Reflections

     Term 3 Reflection

Term 3 is nearly finished and we only have 1 week to go.  The last week of school is going to be very busy because we have Practices and then the next week is our final day it's performing day.

          Netball Game

I feel sad because netball is finished but the good thing is we had prize giving,shared lunch and I was the captain. Our grade was D but we came second. On Friday in the assembly when it’s time to give out the sports certifect. Ms Vaafusuaga gave out our badges and certifect, my teammates was excited and happy. 

Rotation Every Mornings

We go to school early at 8:30 to mark the roll do our karakia and mihimihi then go to our literacy and creative strands group. What I like doing is reading and getting to know new word with Mrs Nua literacy group.

About Me

Hello my name is Doris I am 11 years old and turning 12 this year on December the 11. Me and my family always go church on Sundays. I am in Rm 21 and my teacher name is Mrs Lagitupu she is kind and awesome.

Friends:

My friends are Taamai , Sisilia , Chloe , Martha , Giana and Flora.  They are nice and kind friends I've meet in Point England School.   

What I like to do and play:

I like playing with my siblings and play sports as well as my older brother that goes to Tamaki College. I play netball for school and I'm the captain of my team.

Hobby:

My hobby is Dancing , singing and also playing sports as well.

Practising For The Evanngless

On Monday after school at 4:30 me and my friends from church had a practice for the evangless( Evangless is a kind of a youth thing). On the 30th of August I have to invite friends from school to come, watch and support me.

When I got there at church me and friends were practicing while our leader comes. While we were practicing our leader Shekinah got here, so we did our prayer to start of our day. We started dancing(Are you ready by Mary Mary).

We had a 5 min break after we finished one dance. Then we kept practicing until we finished our new dance. It took us to finished it 2 hours. Then we had lunchtime we ate cookies,chips and drinks. We finished of with a prayer.

At the Airport

On Tuesday at 12:00 o'clock my family got ready to go to the airport. We went shopping to buy food for my family at Samoa. After shopping then we went to the airport and waited for my dad and my grandparents to do their stuff.

My grandma have to sit on a wheelchair because she might walk up the stairs and fall down. When it was 2:30 they lift because their time was half past four and they don't want to walk by four o'clock.

We took some photos and said good bye. Some off us were crying. After we went to buy some food for my family because my brother and baby sisters were crying. So we went to by chips and drinks.

                                       

Fairy Tale

Once upon a time on a  cold cloudy day there was a girl called Alabella .She walked to school alone. When she got to school she hang her bag on the chair.

When the morning tea Alabella  went to the shops with her friends Jilly Billy and Sponge pant. There was a man stalking her on her netbook Looking at the password.

Alabella and her friends were at the park then the bell started ringing, they were the last to go class. Then the man came to the playground and snatch her bag run away. AlAbella went to the principal and told what happened.

Principal said to her why did you take your bag out of class she didn’t reply? The principal rang the police and tell them what happen. On their way they saw the man that had  Alabella bag.

They went after them and got the bag and gave it to Allabella.

Doris Motivation for writing. Rock Climber/Success

One day I climbed a treacherous mountain. I gripped onto the rock face  feeling  really nervous . I hope I don’t fall”I thought to myself.

I nearly let go of the rock face but I thought to myself “Yes I can do it. I’m nearly up the top.”  I felt the sun beating on my back. I persevered and tried my best to never give up. I did it. “I’m up the top,I thought to myself”.

Success is largely a matter of hanging on 

after others have let go.

This Quote By William Feather is telling us to not give up because that is how I can reach my goal.

My weekend

On Sunday after church we went to have a family feed at my aunty's house. It was the whole family (it was crowded). The adults went first to eat then the kids.

We sat down on the mat to eat. We ate chicken, soup  and taro. After we finished eating we went in the room and played on the laptop. It was cool and fun. We played run on cool maths game.

My Familys

My family came from Samoa and some of my brothers and sisters were born here there names are Debra , Samuel and Ragillianchristal. I have 5 sisters and 3 brothers all together.

I have an older brother and he goes to Tamaki College. He is 15 years old turning 16 in July. My older brother’s name is Junior, he loves to play rugby (like my second older brother Roman).

My mum and dad’s name is Taulaga and Faaulufalega (Fale for short). It is a samoan name.  My family loves to go to church and my dad is a pastor.

My second younger sister loves to play netball like me. She is 8 years old and is in the Patriots team playing netball.

Roman is my second older brother he is 12 years old. He plays rugby league for the under 12 Marist team.

My little sisters go to kindergarten, they love it  there because they do cool stuff. They tell me  what they do when they get home.

I really love my family because they are kind and super caring for us.

In Term 1 we started making a movie for our D.L.O. Ms Tito told us to make a movie about the Karakia. Taamai , Sislia , Mele, Tauwhare and me made movie together.

Going Out For A Run

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday after noon, Room 15 ,20 and 21  goes out for a run because fun run is coming up , fun run mean we dress up and run 5 laps around the whole field. When we get down to the field room 15 goes first then 20 and our class go. Me and my friend Taamai always run together.

We walk when we get to the big tree then we run again. When we are nearly at the end we race to the gate together. After we went for a second run it was muddy in the beginning. After we got to the end we sat down and waited for the others to finish then we can go back to class.

Weekend On Monday

On Monday my cousin came over to my house. In the morning me and my cousin Piana clean the house and had breakfast. After breakfast we went to get our togs ready to go pools. We walk down to the pools and got change in our togs.

Then we hop in the pool and it was warm. Me and my cousin PIana were playing tigy. Then we went under the waterfall and we throw our goggles and run to get it.

My SMART Goals

My SMART Health goal:

I eat 5 packets a week

My goal is to eat only 2 packets of chips a week until the end of term 3.

Obesity

                                    Report about Obesity in America

Obese people need larger coffins because they are really fat. Some people are dying from obesity. People In America are eating fast foods.

Obesity can cause major health problems like heart attack, disease and diabetes.

Sedentary lifestyle

People that are overweight just sit down and watch television and eat all day. They don’t do much things because they are not really able to move around in their house.

Bad diet

Kids and adults that are obese are eating too much fast food and doing nothing. Fast food has sugar and salt in them and they are not healthy  for our body. Bad diets are unhealthy.

Facts

In America there are about 60 million adults and 30% of adults  are now obese.  300,000 people from America die from obesity each year.
