Baby sister born

My mum went to the hospital on Monday to have a baby.The baby was born on Tuesday the same day as my birthday.
I went and visit my mum on Wednesday because on Tuesday my dad have to go to the hospital to help my mum to get the baby out.We were at my aunty's house.
The baby was a girl and her name Ragillianchristal.She quiet and cute,she 11 pounds.

Kawau Island

The first thing we did when we got to Kawau Island is taking our bags into our cabin and then go for a swim.Then the next day we did activities our first activities was orienteering.After orienteering we went abseiling.Abseiling was fun but we didn’t get to go in the big one.Anamei went first when she got up the top she was scare to come down.Then we have to go in the little one.

Next we went to kayaking it was the most fun thing I did.We made a raft togetter and we had a compettion, me and Frankie had a challenge.I have to go in his boat and he goes in my boat.We have to swap boat.I have to go to the back of the boats and he goes in the front,he thought Erin said he goes at back.Then we raced ,he was coming in my way.Then he fell in the water,he was so scare because the snik ray in the water.

Sailing was the scary thing I did because I nearly fell in the water.I was glad I didn’t fall in water and I felt relieved when it was over.My bottom was wet then we went straght for a swim.I said to my self I’m never going to do sailing ever again.

I was so relieved that camp was over I miss my family so much.

Kawau Island

I can't wait for camp we can do lots of activities and free time swimming.The best thing I like is bombing  into the water.

Floating Boat

Triathlon Recount

Last week we went to triathlon we did iron man,biking and running.We did some exercise before we started.

We did 5 star jumps and then we went to the water silde but some people didn’t bring their togs so they had to run down and up.We had to do 4 laps on the water slide.

Then we went to our bikes then we rode it out of the transition. After we do 2 laps we got off our bike and then put it where we got it from.

Then we run to the finish line.

I felt  tired at the end but I had a good time.Mark gave us a certificate to all our class

How to make a cake

1.Always wash your hand first

2.In a medium sized bowl,melt the butter on high for 1 minute

3.Stir the eggs,sugar,and vanilla

4.Beat the mixture well

5.Stir in the flour,baking powder,and cocoa.Use a sieve.

add some chopped nuts if want to.

6.Spread the mixture in 20cm baking dish.Microwave on high for 5 to 7 minutes.

7.Let the cake cool in the dish.

8.Then add some sprinkle on the icing sugar

The bush

Me and my friend went for a power walking in the bush.
We were following the track and we were busy talking.

We were not worried about the way we are going.
We didn’t realise we were lost in the bush.

Me and my friend were calling someone help.
No one reply.I was feeling scare and so as my friend.

Finally we heard someone coming and we were happy.
Someone came and showed us the way back.

I was so happy we were back home .
Being with family is important than just your friends.

How to make a pop up card

1.Fold the two larger pieces of paper in half and crease them.On one of these pieces,measure about 8 centimetres along the folded edge and make a mark with your pencil.Measure the same distance from the other end and make another mark.Use your ruler to draw a 2.5 centimetre line down from each mark.Cut along the lines to make a flap.
2.Open the card and push the flap through to the inside.Crease the flap the other way.When you open the card again.the flap will stand up.
3.Glue the other pieces of folded paper to the card.Be careful not to get any glue behind the flap.

4.Take the smaller piece of paper and draw a pop up picture for your card.On the inside of the card,draw a background for the picture.Then cut out the pop up picture and glue it to the bottom half of the pop up flap.

5.When the glue is dry,write a message on your card and give it to a friend.

White tailed spider

White-tailed spider can bite and when they get squashed they start to bite. Having two palps in front of it body is use for grooming and tasting. They also have white tail at the back of there body.

My favourite food

Jo Holley

Guest who we had at Tuesday assembly,it was Jo Holley she is a movie star and she act in Sione’s wedding part 2.I was so excited because we had someone special.

While we wait for someone to come we sang a song with Mr.Jackson.After we finish singing lean on me,Drum on the Island then I saw someone coming it was the girl who comes on Sione wedding.

She was born in Gisborne,Her first taste of presenting was at the age of eleven as her school’s new reporter.

She was involued in mutiple theatre produnctions,adverts,music,videos,film,Tv program and modelling shows.In 2005 she got a break through to pursure a carrer asa tv presenter.

Cousin bithday

I am talking about my weekend about going to my aunty’s house for a birthday party.



In the weekend on Saturday my family and I went to my aunty’s house soon as we get there they all really started.When we got inside we sang the happy birthday song and I was so excited because I can’t wait to eat the cake.


After we sang the happy birthday song then we ate the cake that was the only part I was waiting for is the cake. When is time to open the presents my cousin was happy because she got an ipad that was the only thing she wanted.
                                          


I think you should be always be with your family and do what you told to do and to your parents.

Tommy Kapai Wilson

Today we learn something from Tommy Kapai books and he read a book to us about the day that the princess died.
He writes lots of books about kapai the kiwi and he told us about his family.

I was so excited that he gonna read a book to us because I like reading story.
His job was a book writer and a publisher.

He said that his father went to a war and he lied about his age.
Because his father thinks war is fun.

When his father came back he said to him you can get better life by making ten people smile.Everybody have gifts.

I’ve been reading some of his book about Kapai goal shoot.His book are amazing and some of the books that he wrote is funny too.

What I like about his story is that I like kids story. I love reading children books.

Hedgehog in your garden

Hedgehog like to live in lots of places like under buildings and in hedges,under bushes and also compost.Hedgehog like to eat snails and caterpillars,beetles and slugs.They can live anywhere are places.

There are 2 type of lizards sinks and geckos.They are native to New Zealand.  Skinks are protected by law so that people won’t killed them.

They are mainly carnivores.They like to  eat spider and bugs,insects and fruits from the soft native tree.

They have dry scales and they have small eyes but their eyesight is excellent.

Skinks live in lots of different place like in rocky areas,sometime in the forest and cold alpine mountains . Some of them live in seashore or bushes.

My weekend

On Saturday I went to my auntys house we have'nt seen them for long and we had BBQ.
Me and my cousin was playing on the trampoline while we wait for the BBQ to really.

When the BBQ was really we went to eat after we have finished eating we went back outside and we play cricket with my cousin my dad and uncle joyed the game too.



Me and my cousin went inside to watch television while the boys and my dad,uncle play cricket outside.We were watching our favourite chanel 40 we watch so random.


Then my cousin said should we go play ball table and I said yes we went outside to the garage to play ball table.

Church Auvers sur-oise - Critique of my art

Vincent Van Gogh was a famous paint artist, he painted Church of Auvers Sur Oise in 1890 years ago.I tried to replicate his painting of the church and tried to copy his technique style.He use oil to paint the church

Similarities to my work between Van Gogh painting I tried to mix white and brown to make light brown to paint the top roof.

What is differences between my work and Vincent Van Gogh work is the curltied is to small and Van Gogh paint curltied is big.

The church is like spoky scarry houses at the back of the church,

the sky is so spoky and scarry.

Starry Starry night by Doris

Starry starry night was paint in the year 1889 by the famous artist Vincent Van Gogh.

Star lights shine in the sky which is swirling. In the foreground there is a dark village and the  curvy cypress tree. The sky is bright and the village is dark.

As you can see  the pointed church steeple and cypress tree balances the picture.
The main colour of this painting is blue and the paint that stand out is yellow.

Art Alive

      
Today we had an assembly in the hall. We are  learning about art alive and all the teacher were dressed  up as artists.

Mr.  Barks was telling how colours make him feel, red-angry, yellow-happy and blue-sad .

Mrs. Barks was talking about the picture and they were real we were laughing out loud , Miss Walters was dressed in bella rina then she did a bella rina dance.

What I like  about art alive is teachers dressed up and performed.

Van Gogh sunflower

This lovely valuable sunflower was paint  by Vincent Van Gogh in 1888. It
is 73 x 92 cm size of his sunflowers paint.Some of his painting he use medium oil to paint.


Van gogh usually uses lot of painting to make it thick. He uses bright happy colours because he
was happy.



When I looked at the sunflower what I like about the painting is it is bright like yellow, orange, brown and red. I don’t like rough lumpy, instead using brush he uses knife.

YEH!Guest what we did on wednesday morning?
On a beauitful sunny day we had year 5/6 school camp on the back of Pt England field during the day.
I was so exited and happy it was the camp day for year 5/6 camp because I love doing fun acivtes.Our first acivte was table tennis and roller bladder.The thing I am most looking forward to is the top team challenge and the amazing race.

My goal is get better at kayaking because last year camp we don’t get to go kayaking.In the morning we had a jam jam in the hall to warm up and then we went to have a beakfast.I had the best year 5 and 6 camp ever.
On the last day of our 5/6 camp we went to swimarama.It was fun in the high slide because it was warm then the pools.
