Athletics Day

On Friday last week we had  Athletics. We dressed in our team colour and went at the court and sat in our age lines. Mr Burt did a prayer to start of our day.

Then we went to our first Activity which was Softball Throws. Softball throw was a bit tricky but at least I had fun. The people that came 1st 2nd and 3rd was Mele than it goes Porsha and Jorja.

Our next activity is Hop, skip and jump.  It was tricky because we have to run, hop , skip and jump. The fordist get to go in the 1st 2nd and 3rd place. When it came to my turn I was it was kinda tricky. 1st person that came first was Mele , Gianna and Taamai.

Our next exciting activity was High Jump. Last last year I came first but this year was kinda hard. The first and second I made it in, on the 3rd one I didn’t made it in so I had one more chance but I didn’t make it everybody that didn’t made was cheering. The bell went for morning tea we went and sat down with our group then go get our morning tea.

Our Pastors Birthday

On Saturday it was our church pastors birthday he was turning 65. When I walked in the door there was a huge rectangle cake and a lot of food. All the other pastors came as well.

While we were changing into our uniform to dance in they were dancing freestyle. Then when they finished it was our turn to perform. We perform 4 dances , then we sat down and had lunch after we had performed.

After we had lunch we played touch outside with my others friends. It was cool. The pastors were talking inside and then some started leaving because they had stuffs to do.

Production

On Monday we perform in front of the Day care,Kindergarten and others school. We are the 70’s and 90’s dance crew. When we came on the stage the kids were clapping and cheering. Our first dance was the 70’s YMCA and Staying Alive by Bee gees. It was awesome, some of the kids were dancing to YMCA with us.

When we finished the next crew came on. We changed into our costumes for the 90’s dance. We waited for 2 minute then went back on stage. After the choir it was our turn again. It was cool. I like the Janet Jackson one because me and my best friend Taamai is Janet and we get to sing and dance different from the others. Can’t wait on to perform again on Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday. Friday we are performing in front of our school.

My Reflection

Why didn’t we finished our DLO movie?

Me,Flora and Javana made a movie about Sally Ride. We worked on it 3 days. The first day was planning of what to do. The second day we started animating then the next day we were half way now we just need a little more time to finished it off.

Why?

Mrs Lagitupu called the 70’s and 90’s group for the production to have a practise (I was part of it.) On Thursday we had tech. On Friday we only had a little time.

Term 3 Reflections

     Term 3 Reflection

Term 3 is nearly finished and we only have 1 week to go.  The last week of school is going to be very busy because we have Practices and then the next week is our final day it's performing day.

          Netball Game

I feel sad because netball is finished but the good thing is we had prize giving,shared lunch and I was the captain. Our grade was D but we came second. On Friday in the assembly when it’s time to give out the sports certifect. Ms Vaafusuaga gave out our badges and certifect, my teammates was excited and happy. 

Rotation Every Mornings

We go to school early at 8:30 to mark the roll do our karakia and mihimihi then go to our literacy and creative strands group. What I like doing is reading and getting to know new word with Mrs Nua literacy group.

About Me

Hello my name is Doris I am 11 years old and turning 12 this year on December the 11. Me and my family always go church on Sundays. I am in Rm 21 and my teacher name is Mrs Lagitupu she is kind and awesome.

Friends:

My friends are Taamai , Sisilia , Chloe , Martha , Giana and Flora.  They are nice and kind friends I've meet in Point England School.   

What I like to do and play:

I like playing with my siblings and play sports as well as my older brother that goes to Tamaki College. I play netball for school and I'm the captain of my team.

Hobby:

My hobby is Dancing , singing and also playing sports as well.

Practising For The Evanngless

On Monday after school at 4:30 me and my friends from church had a practice for the evangless( Evangless is a kind of a youth thing). On the 30th of August I have to invite friends from school to come, watch and support me.

When I got there at church me and friends were practicing while our leader comes. While we were practicing our leader Shekinah got here, so we did our prayer to start of our day. We started dancing(Are you ready by Mary Mary).

We had a 5 min break after we finished one dance. Then we kept practicing until we finished our new dance. It took us to finished it 2 hours. Then we had lunchtime we ate cookies,chips and drinks. We finished of with a prayer.

At the Airport

On Tuesday at 12:00 o'clock my family got ready to go to the airport. We went shopping to buy food for my family at Samoa. After shopping then we went to the airport and waited for my dad and my grandparents to do their stuff.

My grandma have to sit on a wheelchair because she might walk up the stairs and fall down. When it was 2:30 they lift because their time was half past four and they don't want to walk by four o'clock.

We took some photos and said good bye. Some off us were crying. After we went to buy some food for my family because my brother and baby sisters were crying. So we went to by chips and drinks.

                                       

Fairy Tale

Once upon a time on a  cold cloudy day there was a girl called Alabella .She walked to school alone. When she got to school she hang her bag on the chair.

When the morning tea Alabella  went to the shops with her friends Jilly Billy and Sponge pant. There was a man stalking her on her netbook Looking at the password.

Alabella and her friends were at the park then the bell started ringing, they were the last to go class. Then the man came to the playground and snatch her bag run away. AlAbella went to the principal and told what happened.

Principal said to her why did you take your bag out of class she didn’t reply? The principal rang the police and tell them what happen. On their way they saw the man that had  Alabella bag.

They went after them and got the bag and gave it to Allabella.

Doris Motivation for writing. Rock Climber/Success

One day I climbed a treacherous mountain. I gripped onto the rock face  feeling  really nervous . I hope I don’t fall”I thought to myself.

I nearly let go of the rock face but I thought to myself “Yes I can do it. I’m nearly up the top.”  I felt the sun beating on my back. I persevered and tried my best to never give up. I did it. “I’m up the top,I thought to myself”.

Success is largely a matter of hanging on 

after others have let go.

This Quote By William Feather is telling us to not give up because that is how I can reach my goal.

My weekend

On Sunday after church we went to have a family feed at my aunty's house. It was the whole family (it was crowded). The adults went first to eat then the kids.

We sat down on the mat to eat. We ate chicken, soup  and taro. After we finished eating we went in the room and played on the laptop. It was cool and fun. We played run on cool maths game.

My Familys

My family came from Samoa and some of my brothers and sisters were born here there names are Debra , Samuel and Ragillianchristal. I have 5 sisters and 3 brothers all together.

I have an older brother and he goes to Tamaki College. He is 15 years old turning 16 in July. My older brother’s name is Junior, he loves to play rugby (like my second older brother Roman).

My mum and dad’s name is Taulaga and Faaulufalega (Fale for short). It is a samoan name.  My family loves to go to church and my dad is a pastor.

My second younger sister loves to play netball like me. She is 8 years old and is in the Patriots team playing netball.

Roman is my second older brother he is 12 years old. He plays rugby league for the under 12 Marist team.

My little sisters go to kindergarten, they love it  there because they do cool stuff. They tell me  what they do when they get home.

I really love my family because they are kind and super caring for us.

Going Out For A Run

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday after noon, Room 15 ,20 and 21  goes out for a run because fun run is coming up , fun run mean we dress up and run 5 laps around the whole field. When we get down to the field room 15 goes first then 20 and our class go. Me and my friend Taamai always run together.

We walk when we get to the big tree then we run again. When we are nearly at the end we race to the gate together. After we went for a second run it was muddy in the beginning. After we got to the end we sat down and waited for the others to finish then we can go back to class.

Weekend On Monday

On Monday my cousin came over to my house. In the morning me and my cousin Piana clean the house and had breakfast. After breakfast we went to get our togs ready to go pools. We walk down to the pools and got change in our togs.

Then we hop in the pool and it was warm. Me and my cousin PIana were playing tigy. Then we went under the waterfall and we throw our goggles and run to get it.

My SMART Goals

My SMART Health goal:

My goal is to eat only 2 packets of chips a week until the end of term 3.

Obesity

Obese people need larger coffins because they are really fat. Some people are dying from obesity. People In America are eating fast foods.

Obesity can cause major health problems like heart attack, disease and diabetes.

Sedentary lifestyle

People that are overweight just sit down and watch television and eat all day. They don’t do much things because they are not really able to move around in their house.

Bad diet

Kids and adults that are obese are eating too much fast food and doing nothing. Fast food has sugar and salt in them and they are not healthy  for our body. Bad diets are unhealthy.

Facts

In America there are about 60 million adults and 30% of adults  are now obese.  300,000 people from America die from obesity each year.

Free range/organic eggs

Hens can run around , flap their wings and perch or nest because they have lots of space.

Caged hens

There are 6 birds per cage. The cages are on an angle for the eggs to roll down. Hens cannot exercise.

Health benefits

Eggs are high in protien and are easy for our bodies to digest.

Different size and colours

Some eggs have different size and different colours.

Hens and chicken laid eggs. Mostly eggs come from caged hens.

Ways to cook eggs

We can cook eggs in different ways like boiled , fried and scrambled. There are no nutritional difference between white and brown eggs. Egg yolks In New Zealand are dark. Organic and free range eggs are expensive thats why cage eggs are cheaper.

Conclusion

Eggs are good for our bodies. You can put eggs in lots of things, like eggs in a sandwich. Did you know that protein is mostly in the yolk?

Special Assembly With Will.I.am

On Thursday it was a special day ,we had a special assembly with Will.I.am. I was  excited but we had to wait for him to come. So we just waited. We sang strive to succeed. The TLN - Maniakalani kids came too.

When he walked in I was excited , we were cheering and clapping. I felt amazed and special.

After Mr.Burt talk we shout WELCOME WILL.I.AM. He talked about where he came from and about himself. He gave us one hundred thousand dollars because of our work online.

After the assembly finished Mr.Burt turn the music on and we go to our classes. Will.I.am came to our class and looked what were doing. The television people were shooting our school on news.

My holidays

On Sunday after church I went over to my friend house and her name is Linah.  Her big sisters name is Rita and Esther. 

On Monday we went to my house to get some clothes and after I got my clothes we went back home. We played on the Ipad and play outside. After we watch tv in Esther room.

On Tuesday me and Linah stayed at home and play on the Ipad. When Linah mum came back we went shopping at k mark and new world. We bought some food. Then we went to take away shop and buy chicken and chips. After that we went to the park. We played touch and Esther told us to run around the whole field.

On Wednesday we went to buy food for Linah grandpa. We got there and we played kicking. It was fun. We went back to Linah house , we stay and clean the house. We play at the playground at the back of there house.

On Thursday we clean the house and after cleaning the house we went  to the beach. It was fun we were bombing of the wharf. After we went to change because it was getting cold.

On Friday we went to our youth staff. We all meet in our church and we did the prayer and we went. We follow the pastor then we stopped at the bump and we got lost. We rang one of our church people and they said is at the royal oak primary. We got there. They wasn’tt there we went back still no one. We drive for 3 hours then at last we found it but it was finished.

Netball in a raining day

In lunch time and sometime after school we had netball trials. It was my first time signing up for netball. It was cool and fun. My posision was wing defence and center. My favourite posison was center because I  get the ball alot.

Yay we get trail in the holiday because it was raining in our final practise. It was raining and we got wet. All off us were wearing our PE shirt and uniform . Ms Vaafusuaga came and told us remeber to bring change of clothes. Then we had a game with the year 5 and 6 but it was still a trial.

We were still playing then it started raining hard out. We had to go home because it was raining hard out. Me , Shanika and Rayleen walk home togetter.

                                                                      

Tech at Tamaki College

On every Thursday we go to Tamaki college for tech , I was in the cooking group . I love going to tech because we do cooking and when I go home I can cook dinner for my family .

Before we go in the Kitchen we wash our hands the put a april on . Then we go to our groups , there were 3 people in my group . It was Cheyanne , Taamai and Flora .

Misses Heka told us what we are gonna cook for today . Then we started cooking andwe were making french toast . It was yummy and easy to make .

Fire at the GenGis Khan Restraunt

We went down to Manukau for our  youth practice .  I was playing outside with my brothers and there was a smoke coming from the restraunt . Our church people came and had a look what is happening , other people came too . There was a men that got hurt .

There were five fire engine came , a fire rescue and ambilance . It was crowed there people were walking around .Not much people from the restraunt worker got hurt , one men got burn when he tried to take the frying pan off then the fire got bigger .

Playing with my siblings

After school I go home and dress then played with my brothers and sisters . We played at the basketball court next to our house . We played master and we sometime ride on the bikes and scooter .

When we are hot we go to the Glen Innes pool next to the basketball court . I like going to the pools , it feel relaxing . After we finished swimming we went home and eat then come back out again and play at the park .

When we feeling tired we went home and sleep .

Sunday School

On Sunday in the morning we had Sunday school .We have Sunday school every sunday .

We started with a prayer before we go to our group . After that we split out to our groups .

There are little kids , middle and older kids groups . I was in the older kids group , we always have to do the mission and vision every morning before we start . Mission and vision it like a prayer but it not.

After we had finished we go and sit down on the chairs .Then the teachers told us to stand up and sing . After we sang we did a prayer to end our day . Then we sat down and watch the quayer 
singing .

Drummers and Cook Island group

On Friday we had an assembly in the hall , I sat down and stared at the drums up the stage .

Then we stand up and sing the national afthen . After we sang the national afthen we sat down again.

Then Miss Muliamase’alii came and introduce her guesses . The yr 7 and 8 boys play there part then they went of . The older people started drumming and the Cook Island girls came and dances .

I was fun watching them drumming and dancing . Then Mr Burt introduce a new girl to our school , it was Miss King daughter . We said welcome to Point England School .

Then Mr Jacobson turn the music on and we all go to our classroom .

Easter

On Thursday our teacher told bring your brothers and sister because we had a special treat from the Variety club . I was so excited. When we  had finished school I went home and told my brothers and sisters come to school tomorrow .

Yay it’s Friday , I got up and got dressed in my uniform then I had breakfast. I came to school with a smile in my face , I can’t wait ? When it was morning tea time I talked to my friends and I said what do you think the treat will be .

I saw my sister then I walked over to her and I said hi Daisy and she said look inside there , I turned and look it was easter eggs. Soon the bell went and we had to go to class. It was maths time so I was doing my maths whizz and then it was time to pack up .

It was time for TREAT Misses Lagitupu give outs the easter eggs . I thought we only get one each but we got 20 inside a boxes , I went home with a smile in my face .

Walking down to the reserve

On Friday after school me and my dad went for a walk at the reserve . My dad was walking I was on the bike . When we got down at the reserve we sat down on the chair . We watched the birds flying .


Then we had a race , he goes on the bike and I walk . It was funny I trip on a hole , my dad was laughing . He said' are you alright , I'm okay . My dad said lets go home .


On our way home we had a little played at the playground . Then we went home , when we got there he said lets go buy something to eat . We bought fish 'n' chips .

 It was yummmy . We went home happily and I said thank you at last .
